The Monday Catch-up

Individualism: A bunch of Michael Jackson’s stuff will go on show in a museum in Ireland, before all being auctioned.

Technology: National Museum of Flight gets an Airship Simulator as part of it’s £2 million refurb. If there’s anything that screams the need to host a Steampunk themed evening, it’s that.

Individualism, Presentism: Best of British, that Saatchi reality TV show Best of British, will include Saatchi himself as a judge along with Tracey Emin and… Alex James from Blur.

Technology: Seb Chan makes five important points about using QR codes in museums. Although, I would have solved problem 5 by printing the codes on thinner paper and backlit it. A small lightbox is better than moving a whole lighting rig, surely?

Technology, Museum Expansionism: Brooklyn Museum releases their Collection API into the wild. Soon, every museum will have an API.
