Thomas P. Campbell, Met Director

A message from the Met’s new director, Thomas P. Campbell.

Following on from Philippe de Montebello can be no easy thing, as his personality was so ingrained into the place after so long. Being director of the Met means having to be the entire individualised frame of reference and this video feels like an attempt to raise Campbell’s profile. I think he did rather well.

Director Campbell – Congratulations on your appointment. What an honor and opportunity!I attended most recently for the opening of “Beyond Babylon”, as I am an Associate Director of the Institute of Nautical Archaeology and had the opportunity to dive on the Ulu Burun shipwreck in 1991. A marvelous exhibit. Very well done. Hope to meet you.
