Such a simple idea. I swear, the Dutch are the leaders when it comes to simple innovations for museums.
The Museum Plus Bus is a collaboration between several museums and nursing homes that transports senior citizens to and from the museum for free. Last year they took 10,000 people on day trips.
The brilliance is in the simple fact that this opens access to these museums that these people wouldn’t normally have. The museums can count a whole bunch of extra numbers to their visitor count.
If transport is a barrier to museums, then provide transport.
