Facebook Profile Painted Portraits by Matt Held

This is a great idea. Brooklyn artist Matt Held plans to do portraits of people’s facebook images. Join this group, he’ll befriend you and will (hopefully) get around to doing a picture. You get a jpg in the mail, he gets to keep the original and copyright, which is a fair deal in my eyes. He’ll obviously want to display/reproduce the images for his own means.
There are over 350 members of the group, and Matt has done 24 portraits so far (in three months? That’s quick). So have patience.
You can track Matt’s thoughts (and mild panic over the member numbers) on his blog.
If Matt does my portrait, and if I’m feeling vain enough, I’ll post it on here and do away with my shroud of semi-anonymity.
