Everyone Loves Wordle: Looting Matters

When I did a Wordle for “What is the most important function of museums”, it seemed to strike a cord with people as a valid way to display information.

Looting matters seems to be creating one every month as a typographical zeitgeist of all that is stolen antiquities. I notice how Italy has been replaced by Egypt as the most often referred to country now.

Mr. Campbell seems to be consistent though.

  Most museums are founded by wealthy philanthropists, and you'd be hard-pressed to find one founded by designers; the amount of capital required to erect or purchase a building and subsequently fill it is simply beyond the reach of most of us Pantone-pushers.

  Museum professionals tend to think this is OK because they think of the contributory act as the important part of the participation. But without responsiveness, you have a broken feedback loop. The response is what makes participation useful and meaningful to future users, including participants themselves.
